- Expanding water and energy capacity to support growth
- Strengthening system reliability and resilience
- Advancing sustainability initiatives
- Meeting state and federal regulatory requirements
- Implementing new technologies to improve service and efficiency
- Providing programs and tools that help customers manage their accounts and usage
2026 Rate Adjustment

Beyond Rates: What Affects Your Bill
The rates you pay for electric, water, and sewer services are one of many factors that determine your monthly utility bill. Each month, your total bill may also be affected by:
- Energy and water usage
- Outside temperatures
- Length of your billing cycle
- Applicable city and state taxes collected by JEA and passed through to the appropriate government agencies
Understanding the other causes of bill fluctuations can help explain why your bill may vary from month to month, even if your routine remains the same.
