Kingsbury Street Sewer Improvement Project

Project Objective

A contractor working for JEA (Callaway Contracting, Inc.) is continuing work to upgrade the sanitary sewer pump station located at 4140 Kingsbury Street. The next phase of the project will involve replacing a portion of the existing sewer line located just outside the pump station. During this work, JEA will be required to setup an external bypass line and pump that will operate continuously throughout the work.

This work is necessary to ensure the reliability of the sewer system that serves your neighborhood. Failures to sewer systems can potentially cause major sewer back-ups, environmental harm and roadway issues.

Estimated Completion Date: Summer 2023*

*Date is highly subject to change.

Construction Conditions

Construction will primarily occur in rights-of-way and utility easements. There will be times when driveways are temporarily blocked when crews are working directly in front of homes or businesses.

This project will not impact your normal JEA electric, water or sewer service. We appreciate your continued patience during this important infrastructure improvement project. We apologize for any delays or inconvenience caused by this construction.

Temporary Road Closure - April 3rd

For the safety of crews and the general public, the contractor will be required to temporarily close Kingsbury Avenue from Dancy Street (near Ruth N. Upson Elementary) to the Dancy Street (dead end) while this work is completed.

This closure will impact normal traffic access to Ruth N. Upson Elementary School. The majority of the parking area at Murray Hill Park will remain open for park visitors and school traffic. Please see the work area and detour map below.
